About

Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship – Caribbean was launched in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2011 by business magnate Sir Richard Branson. Today, we are the Caribbean’s leading business accelerator, bringing world-class entrepreneurial support to the region.

Branson Centre Caribbean, a nonprofit, was formed through a strategic partnership between the mogul’s philanthropic organization, Virgin Unite, the not-for-profit foundation of the Virgin Group, and his brand’s long-haul tour company serving the Caribbean from the UK, Virgin Holidays.

”The best way forward is to give more people everywhere greater power to build their own destinies.”
– Richard Branson

We challenge Caribbean entrepreneurs to think big and actively reshape the way business is done as usual.

CHANGING THE GAME

Our approach to entrepreneur development is based on world-class principles and approaches delivered with local flair. We have a unique sensibility that combines global thinking and local understanding. By encouraging entrepreneurs and local business leaders to embrace a progressive scale-up culture that empowers entrepreneurs to shift markets and create change, we are transforming the game of entrepreneurship in the Caribbean.

MAKING ENTREPRENEURS ‘BANKABLE’

We’ve created a viable investment pipeline, bringing one of the strongest groups of capital to the table. This gives our entrepreneurs opportunities to pitch to institutional investors, who represent a majority of the venture capital available in Jamaica. These investors include NCB, Proven Investments, PanJam Investment, GK Capital and Norbrook Capital Partners. They are ready to invest upwards of US$1 million investments in each deal. This strategic move addresses long-standing funding challenges in the ecosystem and gives our partners direct access to fruitful, investment-ready ventures.

BUSINESS AS A FORCE FOR GOOD

Our founder, Richard Branson, has called for businesses to focus their energies on becoming a positive force, rather than simply chasing profit. As a successful entrepreneur who has launched over 300 companies, he knows as well as anyone that a company’s profitability matters. But, it doesn’t end there. There is a better way of doing business that puts people and planet alongside profit. We help entrepreneurs understand that using business for good, is good for business. Every single business, not just ‘social businesses’, can and should have a positive impact on people and planet.
