Professional Service Provider Programme

Enable Economic Growthsocial-blurbs24

Entrepreneurs need different things at different times to move their start-up forward. They need to tap into essential support services, like legal, accounting, marketing and IT, which are usually at a cost. Sometimes this cost is prohibitive for an entrepreneur, and the growth of their company slows when they are unable to access what they need, in order to achieve a specific result. That’s why we created our Professional Service Provider programme.

As a Professional Service Provider, or PSP, you have the opportunity to enable economic growth by sharing your expertise and wisdom with entrepreneurs on an ad hoc basis by donating about 1-2 pro bono hours per month. It’s similar to mentoring in that it allows you to use business as a force for good and interact with and support entrepreneurs who can benefit from your skills and expertise, but it’s targeted at a specific need that requires your specialization. As a PSP, we link you with entrepreneurs who need your expertise to tackle a clear challenge or opportunity as it arises, and the need can usually be met in one or two hour sessions. For example, a lawyer in our PSP programme might assist an entrepreneur with reviewing a legal document or creating a contract. PSPs often save the day and play an important role in enabling our entrepreneurs’ development.

Use Business as a Force for Good

Our PSPs take pride in being able to give back and use business as a force for good. They gain a huge sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in passing along their knowledge and wisdom to enable others. In many instances, working closely with entrepreneurs can lead to longer-term partnerships and business relationships. It also provides our PSPs with deep insights into issues faced by small businesses and entrepreneurs, which provides great learning, not to mention tapping into the new innovations and energy of high-potential start-ups. The inspiration and idea flow goes both ways.
