Many studies often cite Jamaica as one of the world’s most entrepreneurial countries. In the Caribbean, it’s one of the leading islands for entrepreneurial mindset and activity. Without a doubt, the will and spirit of entrepreneurship is strong on the island.
2016 data on Jamaica reported by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, shows that entrepreneurship is seen as a desirable profession. However, Jamaican entrepreneurs face many challenges, including difficulty accessing finance and a culture that does not nurture innovation. These challenges create barriers to global brand building, which maintain a lagging, insular ecosystem. We want to change this trend.
By supporting the Jamaican spirit and tendency for entrepreneurship with practical business-skills training and a robust accelerator programme, offering a suite of support services, we help high-potential entrepreneurs move from idea stage to launch, and from startup to scale up.
